The Halal: This post is more for the halal drinks than the food… None of the food here is halal but plenty of vegetarian and seafood dishes. Pork and alcohol are served here.
The Place: The Art’s Club is a fabulous member’s only club tucked away on Dover street. The decor is opulent chic. Inside you’ll find a grand restaurant and weather-permitting, you can choose to sit outside in the garden terrace. Upstairs, there’s a sophisticated bar and cigar room.
The Food: Given the amount of muslim clientele, it would be wonderful if they served halal but I found solace in the delectable burrata, courgette fritters and goats cheese salad which were all divine. The real star of the show were the ‘cleansers’: a selection of the most exquisite mocktails I have ever tasted! Choose from The sharp depth of blackberries in the ‘black-beauty’, the sweet and fragrant rose and lychee or the refreshing strawberry and cucumber. And at £5, I think this place is worth a visit just for the drinks!
The Price: £5 for cleansers and salads and mains around £15 each.
The Verdict: The Arts Club Perfect for mocktails or for a light sunny lunch!
